Temperature measurement

To kill animals and microorganisms in the ballast water, physical methods are used in addition to chlorine. During thermal treatment, the organisms are exposed to a temperature that is lethal for them. Temperature sensors and thermostats from JUMO are used to monitor the water temperature.

The correct temperature in the ballast water tank

Implement thermal processes with JUMO's help

For the thermal treatment of ballast water, 3 common methods are used: Mixing and preheating with simultaneous flushing of the ballast water tank, heating of the ballast water in the tanks or heating during intake or discharge. No matter which method you want to use, JUMO ensures reliable measurement and control of the water temperature. With temperature sensors and thermostats, including approvals for shipbuilding, you are on the safe side.
